A’ssia-Thara (”Ashu”) Rai (b. 2003) is a multidisciplinary artist based in New York, London, and Karachi. Working across mediums their art builds over time to explore how we make sense of rupture, annihilation, contemporary image economies of violence, ethnography vs. performance, the protocols of abstraction, and legibility.
Rai is currently an MFA candidate in Visual Arts at Columbia University.
